Transfer Station Hours

The Summit transfer site is open year-round on Saturdays from 8 AM - 4 PM. During the months of June, July, and August, it is also open Wednesdays from 4 - 7 PM.

A simple guide to what can and cannot be placed in recycling containers.

What IS Recyclable

Only the items listed below should be placed in recycling containers. Food containers must be clean and free of dirty food products.

Plastic Bottles & Containers

  • Plastic bottles
  • Plastic jugs
  • Plastic tubs
  • Only plastic items with a #1, #2, or #5 recycling symbol

Food & Beverage Cans

  • Metal cans
  • Aluminum cans
  • Steel cans
  • Tin cans

Glass Bottles & Containers

  • Glass bottles
  • Colored glass bottles
  • Glass jars
  • Glass tubs

Paper, Flattened Cardboard & Paperboard

  • Newspaper
  • Printer/office paper
  • Junk mail
  • Cardboard (flattened)
  • Paperboard
  • Paper bags
  • Paper books
  • Magazines
  • File folders
  • Notebook paper

What Is NOT Recyclable

  • Plastic containers with no recycle number
